Stage 2a Melanoma - sentinel lymph node biopsy

Hello

I’ve just got back from the hospital & have been offered a Sentinel Lymph Node biopsy , they really went hard on the side effects and recovery , I’m wondering if I’m worrying too much and should not think twice about getting it done, or are there too many risks? I’m very fit and healthy with no other health concerns.
Thank you

  • Hi Whitty and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

Hopefully some of our members will be along soon to share their experiences and advice but I hope this information about having a sentinel lymph node biopsy will be useful too.

If you feel it may help to talk things through with someone, do feel free to give our cancer nurses a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and will do all they can to answer your questions and address your concerns about having this done.

I hope this helps and if you decide to go ahead with the biopsy, that all goes well with the procedure when the time comes.

    Kind regards,
