cancer . Radiotherapy

I have a father in law who has just undergone radiotherapy for 3 weeks 3 times per week . After finishing seemed ok but then got rushed to a and e with sepsis . Now being treated with fresubin drinks and undertaken a course of rluclox 3g drip . . Is there a time limit to life expectancy for this treatment as nobody seems to be telling us or do we need to ask . My husband is very timid and would not ask these questions.  Thankyou

  • Hello Trihs

I'm sorry to hear that your father-in-law has recently been hospitalised with sepsis not long after finishing a course of radiotherapy. It's understandably a very worrying time for you all and natural that you have some questions about your father-in-law's health and prognosis.

Do talk with the ward staff that are caring for your father-in-law. They will be best placed to talk to you about his diagnosis and what the prognosis is.

I do hope that you're able to get some clarity and answers to help you all. If you want to talk with one of our nurses for some advice and support you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,
