Mum. Lung cancer with svco, liver, kidney and lymphnodes all with cancer.

Hi there

My mum is just 60 years old and has been given the above diagnosis (on Friday). 

She is really unable to do anything apart from Toliet and get in and out of bed. 

Do I need to prepare for this to be a short but valiant fight? 
(We go to see her specialist on Tuesday for samples and drain some fluid from outside lung)

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Coleycube although I'm really sorry to hear about your mum's diagnosis. This must be a very difficult time for you both our members who have been on this journey with their loved ones are here for you and will hopefully stop by soon to share their experiences and advice. 

    I'm not sure from your post what time you'll be seeing your mum's specialist today, but I want you to know we'll be thinking of you. I hope the specialist is able to answer some of your questions, but if there is anything afterwards that you'd like to discuss with further one of our cancer nurses, you can contact them on 0808 800 4040.     Did you get anymore information? My mum has also been diagnosed with very similar. We are waiting on biopsy

    Hi Lisa....so sorry to hear about your mum's news! I hope you get some clarity soon! 

    To be honest it's been one bad news day after another. Today we sit with her oncologist and find out the full extent. 

    Yesterday we found out it was small cell and it WASN'T in her brain but it was in her breasts and throat too. 

    My mum is of the age when you don't complain or moan, you just get on with it so who knows how long she's had symptoms
