Estranged Husband cancer scare

Hi 

My estranged Husband announced to me yesterday (as we are separated now over 4 years ) that he has had biopsies done on his lymph nodes and is awaiting results 

I have seen no proof of this however 

Now he is asking for a divorce and wants half the money from our marital home that I still live in with his 15 year old Daughter, he has a one bedroom flat close by 

This is causing me terrible angst and anxiety 

Do I need to see a Solicitor about this ?

    Hi SazzaB.  Yes, I think that you should definitely contact  a solicitor.  Under UK Law, your daughter is still considered a child, and this is something that will be taken in to account.  The marital home is your child's home, and frankly, your ex has very little chance of successfully forcing you to sell the house whilst your daughter is still under 18.  My advice is to contact a solicitor as soon as possible.
