My mum & inoperable pancreatic cancer

My mum has just been diagnosed with stage 3 inoperable pancreatic cancer. We had a fingers crossed that they could treat it and to be told they can’t is heartbreaking. It has spread to her blood vessel near her spleen so surgery is out of the picture. We are now waiting for her to start palliative chemotherapy.

I have a little girl who’s only 5 months and the thought of her growing up without her nanny is the worst. My mum is my best friend, we have always been super close; to the point people thing we are too close. We spend every day together. I cannot imagine life without her.

  • My Husband of 34 years has just been told he has the same. Its his 75th birthday in 3 weeks and my 60th in weeks and our 30th wedding anniversary in September so it was a special year. But it's going to be memorable for all the wrong reasons.

I have 21 year old twins and their Dad isn't going to be there if and when they have children either. So I understand about your daughter.

I was super close to my Mum too and dearly wish she was here right now.Being friends with a Mum is an indication of what a great job shes done of parenting you.

I too cannot imagine my life without my Husband either.I have no solutions but send you a hug and my empathy.
