Are tremors a side effect of chemotherapy

Hi, my mum (80) was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, had three rounds of chemo each of which put her in hospital, first with a chest infection, second a severe allergic reaction covering her entire body in a blustery rash and the third resulting in a fall at home and admitted to hospital for two weeks, next was a full mascetomy and three weeks of daily radiotherapy,

from the first chemo she has suffered with extreme brain foggyness and fatigue and in the last three months has been suffering with body tremors, usually in the morning before she gets out of bed but now have started during the day, these are uncontrollable shakes in both arms and legs and a tingly feeling through her entire body,

she contacted her gp who told her ‘it’s side effects of chemo and will go’

she spoke to breast care nurse ‘it’s not a side effect contact gp’

back to gp a different one now ‘it’s a side effect of chemo and will never go’

I can’t find anywhere anything which says these are side effects of chemo does anyone have any help please ?

  • At last. Someone with the same as me.

I start dithering as soon as I start getting washed, dressed etc in the mornings since I started Chemo in December’23.

my Thyroid tablet dosage was checked twice over a few months… not that.

my steroid tablet strength for the 3 days after Chemo was lowered… not that.

Had my last Chemo today (scan soon) so let’s see if the dithering stops.

I have to say that if I have no plans for the day and can just do as I want, I don’t dither as much. So I wondered if it’s a subconscious nervous/stress thing, although I don’t think I’m stressed, I’m sure I must be given I have intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and peritoneal cancer. Will wait and see.
