Hi.
My 68 year old dad has just been diagnosed with Multi-myeloma. I have been told its stage 3 but when looking at this on other forums, websites it says still treatable 2-5 years survival rate. (my dad was very active for a 68 year old before the pain came). Obviously seeing all different things has confused me.. what is stage 3 now; (years ago it means death to me ha) now its more its very active but still treatable?
The consultant has said to speak to Hospice and the other care will be in touch but hes only 2 weeks into chemo? As hes in pain in hip and back, they have said radiotherapy might be an option to reduce this pain..
Im after some clarity, shall i be more worried he's not going to last 2 years.. is it different from person to person and in Stage 3 Multi-myeloma, whats the difference is there too if its in organs?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Lucy
