Diagnosed with terminal lung cancer

Hi. Wondering if anyone has had this experience.  My partner was told he had advanced lung cancer and maybe 6 months to live.  The letter from same doctor however said "if" this is confirmed it will not be curable. We are waiting on lung aspiration test results.  Meanwhile my partner not working so am trying to claim for mortgage to be paid under reducing mortgage insurance protection. Of course insurers say will not pay without concrete proof that it is terminal.  So wrong that we are even having to think of money at such a time.

  • Insurers sure make lives difficult when you need them the most. They won’t usually pay out without evidence though but hopefully this will come through quickly.
Hopefully hubby is on a pathway that means results come quick and you can either celebrate he doesn’t have it or get the paperwork and focus on something other that mortgage payments.

Wishing you both all the best xxx

  • Hi, so sorry to hear your news - my mother in law was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer only 4 weeks ago. Just on your comment re the mortgage insurance protection - if you go directly to your mortgage provider and ask them for some support with mortgage payments in the interim that might help.  You may have already tried this but if not I hope it helps.
