Hi my daughter was diagnosed at 9 months old with a rare children's cancer in 2004.
As you can imagine me and my husband at that time were distraught.
The following day I went to a local library to find a book about cancer I was desperate for help. I was 24 at the time and did not know anyone with cancer and knew little about cancer. Anyway I could not find a book.
My daughter went on to have operations to save her life, 6 months of chemotherapy and she was constantly poorly we nearly lost her many times. It was the worse time of our lives. Thankfully I have the best family and they were all so supportive.
She has recently turned 20 years old and is amazing.
In covid I wrote a book about her it was something I always wanted to do for her, so she could learn everything that happened to her. 3 years later is is finally published on amazon.
If you are going through a similar experience , please read it, it is sad but I wrote it for other families to give them hope.
My daughter was the first one to read it, and her response was amazing.
If I had read a book similar or same as mine at the early stages of my daughters journey it would have really helped me understand.
She is doing amazing and is constantly having checkups for any other symptoms of cancer, she really is an Inspiration.
Keep smiling and have hope x
