Caring for mum with lung cancer

Hiya! I'm new here, joined through a FB ad and thought it would be good for me. My mum was diagnosed with lung cancer in June 2033, she has done amazingly well through treatments, chemotherapy/immunotherapy and recently, radiotherapy. The radiotherapy hit her hard! Was so worried about her.

Anyway, she's been experiencing numbness in right arm/hand and leg. Saw her oncologist the other day, who has referred her for a MRI scan, I know what this means. I'm just absolutely praying it's not gone to her brain! Also went out for a meal with Mum last night (she lives alone so don't often see her eat) and her right hand was very shaky, actually concerning. She also has a routine CT next week, to check the radiotherapy has done anything.

So we won't know any results until about 4 weeks time when we are due to see her oncologist again.  I just can't stop thinking the worst. I just feel so alone   xx

  • My mum was diagnosed with lung cancer too in June 2023.

We were told it was stage one but ten days later stage four as it had spread to her brain.

She’s had radiotherapy on both the lungs and brain, we get the results of the treatment next Thursday.

I’m an only child so it’s all on me. X
