  • Hi Clairelife, I’m so sorry you are going through this too. My mum is due for a part lung removal for lung cancer next week. It’s scary but I’m just taking one day at a time. I lost my Dad to cancer 6 years ago, the biggest thing for me was leaving nothing unsaid and having no regrets knowing he felt loved and cherished, we also did his bucket list. Mums diagnosis was a real shock, I think I’m in denial as the fear is manifesting itself in my dreams.

I think all we can do is love them x

  • Thank you for your reply it feels like a dream at the moment.. I'm just praying she gets through this xx hope your mum gets through too I can't imagine being with out her and I know you must be feeling the same. Heart broken. But they will get through this that's what I believe everyday. I try not to cry in front of her and tell her every day " don't worry we got this" it's so hard xx

  • The nights don't give me bad dreams.. I'm getting little sleep. Xxx

  • I know what you mean about the tears, my mum is my go to person for good and bad so it’s hard not being able to confide as I don’t want her to be worried about me, cancer is so cruel.
I really hope you manage to get some sleep. Don’t forget to be kind to yourself, I know it sounds like a cliche but we can’t take care of others if we don’t care for ourselves x
