Anyone have partner with brain tumour(s)? Am feeling a bit down at mo...

Came out of controlling, narcissist marriage (16) yrs, met man of my dreams. Together 3 years & was diagnosed with 2 tumours in brain, 1 in lung and "multiple" in abdomen. No prognosis or plan of action for a few weeks until tests were done. Worst time of my life. Got thru brain surgery, living with tablets every day & IV every other week but we both adjusted. He even was returning to part time work. Then new brain tumour a month ago. Waiting for radio therapy. Worst part is the change in personality. Happened before but gradually rightest itself after brain tumours were removed. Now, with brain tumour back again, so is Mr Hyde. Most days I am OK but today I am very down.

Anyone else had similar?

  • Welcome to the forum, MrsBH.

I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing. Dealing with cancer, especially recurrent brain tumors, can take a toll on both the body and emotions so it's natural to feel overwhelmed and experience fluctuations in mood.

Many people find it helpful to connect with others who can relate to their journey and I hope you'll find others here among us who can provide understanding and encouragement. Additionally, seeking support from a counselor or therapist can offer a safe space to express feelings and develop coping strategies.

The other thing I wanted to mention is that I'm including a link here from our website of a page called Living with a brain tumour, in case you feel like having a read as you navigate these difficult times.

Remember to take things one day at a time and be gentle with yourself.

    WIshing you the very best,
