Treatment could be terminated.

Hi all,

I'm not sure what I'm hoping to achieve from posting, but I suppose I'd like to process what's happening, and here seems like a safe place to do so.

My mum has been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer, which has spread to her liver and lungs.

As I think most people expect, we assumed she would receive chemo, but on Monday, her oncologist told us that her liver function may be too low to cope with any treatment, and, if that's the case, only her symptoms would be managed.

She's had further tests and we go back for the go/no go meeting on Monday. I just can't begin to fathom how to cope if on Monday it's no go! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you x

  • So sorry to hear about your mum's diagnosis, it's such a difficult time for you both. I really feel for you, as waiting for results is such a stressful time. This is such a supportive group, hopefully you'll be able to connect with others dealing with a similar situation. Good luck with your appointment on Monday, hope it goes as well as it can. Xx
