Mum to teen with Acinic Cell Carcinoma

Hi, my teenage daughter has been diagnosed with acinic cell carcinoma in the parotid gland after a lump was surgically removed. She has some new nodules due biopsy Monday. I know ACC is rare. Just trying to locate anyone who has any experience or information.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Kelley although I'm really sorry to hear your daughter had been diagnosed with acinic cell carcinoma. This must be a very difficult time.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anyone within the Cancer Chat community with this diagnosis but you may be able to get further information, support and advice from the Salivary Gland Cancer website.

Please do give our cancer nurses a call as well as they may be know of other charities and organisations you can get in touch with. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and will do all they can to help.

I'm not sure if your daughter has been put in touch with organisations that can offer support to her at this time, but if not, it may be worth reaching out to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

We're thinking of you Kelley and wishing your daughter all the best with her biopsy on Monday.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
