  • Hi Brownbutcher,

If you have any immediate concerns about your partner, please call your hospital, or otherwise NHS 111 for support and advice. They will be best placed to advise.

I hope that things improve with your partner soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • HI Brownbutcher,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear of your partner's pain and inability to eat. Have you tried liquidising the food, or experimenting with soups or yoghurts? There are build-up drinks and puddings which can be prescribed in situations like this, in order to keep the calorie uptake up. I agree with our moderator Ben, that you should contact the hospital for advice. There is always someone available to answer enquiries in cases like this.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for both of you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Brownbutcher,

I am so sorry to hear this. Can they not insert a feeding line? This must be very hard for you - how are you coping?

Please keep in touch. I am hoping and praying for better news, next time I hear from you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
