My mum is waiting for her thyroid biopsy results - she has already been told she has lung cancer. The biopsy results appointment has now been put back 6 months to June 2024 - what can I do?
I would ring the secretary and explain that you are worried that results appointment has been delayed to June, can your mum get a phone appointment before then and see if they can advise you
Hi. Definitely take Alfieisastar’s advice and contact the consultant’s secretary. You can ask to be put through via switchboard if you don’t have a direct number. I’m wondering whether an outpatient clinic has been cancelled and the ‘booking clerks’ have simply re-booked to wherever they’ve found a slot. It may not be clear to them what the appointment was actually for.
I agree with Alfieisastar, ring your mum's consultant's secretary and see if she can get an appointment any sooner. It sounds as if this may be an administrative error. See how you get on with this first of all. If you don't please come back, as there are other routes.
