Ovary and Bowel

My partner had a tumour removed from bowel and has been ok. Recent pathway scan revealed initially thought to be cyst on ovary. They have been notified that scan has found enlarged ovary and referred to gynae. We do not know what this means and await clarification.

I will be there for her. But having been through this before I am terrified too but feel guilty about showing this to her as she is very scared. I am very tearful having also both parents in hospital, one facing the removal of a bladder tumour.

I know none of this is happening to me but I am worried how I will get through this. I am so desperately scared to lose her.

  • Welcome to the forum HolgarCz although I'm sorry to hear about your partner and the anxious wait you now have to find out more about the enlarged ovary.

This must be a very difficult time for you, especially with your parents also being unwell and in hospital at the moment but I'm glad you've reached out to us as so many of our members understand how hard it is to be in this position, so you are not alone and hopefully it won't be long until you receive some support and advice.

I hope this section we have for family, friends and caregivers will prove useful but if you feel it may help to talk things through with someone then do give our cancer nurses a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all they can to help you at this challenging time.

We're thinking of you HolgarCz and will have our fingers crossed your partner, and your parents, all have good outcomes.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • Dear Steph, thanks for the kind words and contacts. I’m trying to stop it becoming overwhelming. We also have a young child who was very brave first time but concerned over how she would react a second time. Have to deal with info as it arises.
