How can I support my partner with his fathers diagnosis

Hello,

my 31 year old partners dad has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. How can I support my partner with this? Does anyone have any suggestions on books that I can buy for him in relation to dealing with a parent having cancer? I have looked on google and they are mostly books for teens or children. Are there any podcasts suggestions?

are there any suggestions for books I can buy for my father in law too? Preferably books that are light hearted and funny? (As lighthearted and funny as cancer can even be) if that makes sense?

thank you in advance :)

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat forum Cathul although I'm sorry to hear your partner's dad has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

We do have a reading list on our website but hopefully some of our members will stop soon to offer their ideas and personal recommendations.

I hope this information and advice we have for family, friends and caregivers will help you both as well, but if either of you or your partner's dad would like to discuss his diagnosis with one of our cancer nurses, they're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040. They're very easy to talk to and will do all they can to support you and answer any other questions you may have at this time.

    Kind regards,
