Welcome to the forum, I am so sorry to hear that your mum's cancer has returned, this is always what is dreaded.  Please try to stay strong for your mum, she will need your support.  Ideally she should have someone with her for her appointment on wednesday, for support, but also to help remember the details of treatment options etc, which are easily forgotten in the stress of the moment.

Yes, its not good news that it is in her liver, however, if she is relatively healthy she may well be able to have treatment to shrink it or stop it from spreading further.  Try to keep an open mind and don' t google, that only usually has worst case examples on there, which will only serve to scare you!  We are always scared of possibly having to have chemo, however there are plenty of people on this forum that have had their lives extended alot with it, with not too many side effects. Each person is an individual, and react differently to treatment.

My thoughts are with you and your mum during this tough time.
