No Clear Margins

Hello just looking for advice and experiences.

my mum had a wide excision lumpectomy which managed to remove the invasive lump but didn’t remove all of the dcis microcalcification so no clear margins 

invasive part was 1cm and she had around 4cm of microcalcification 

we have 2 options another re-excision or a mastectomy. 

Her cancer is hormone receptor positive but her2 negative, grade 3

We are unsure on what to do, doctor we leaning towards re-excision but also said the outcomes for both are around the same. So very confused.

    I can understand this is a difficult decision to take. My reply here will boost your post, meaning a few more people should see it and so hopefully you'll receive some more replies - particularly from any others with similar experience.

    If you have any questions in particular about the procedures or possible outcomes then do of course discuss these with the doctor to ensure your mum and you are as informed as possible.
