Mum

My mum has stage 4 cancer, she was doing really well with her treatment and has been on a break from her chemotherapy for about 3 months but a few weeks ago mum had a scan and she has been called in on Friday to discuss this as something has been found.

Since mum got the letter I've really seen a change in her, suddenly her stomach is really swollen (she has ovarian cancer), she has bad acid and her appetite has gone and she has been sick a few times.

The doctor did say to mum that she would go back on chemotherapy at some point but I'm really worried and scared about what she will say on Friday and what had been found.  I cannot believe how quick mum seems to have gone downhill.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Mrs_Bg.

I'm sorry to hear about your mum's situation. It's completely understandable to feel worried and scared. It's important to remember that changes in health can be complex, and it's best to wait for the doctor's assessment on Friday to understand the full picture.

In the meantime, if you feel like asking someone with a medical background some questions, feel free to ring our team of nurses. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on this freephone 0808 800 4040.

Wishing you and your mum the best during her upcoming appointment.

    Warm wishes,
