July 2017 I was 49 my psa was 1.7 I’m now 55 my psa is 54.5. The symptoms I have are peeing in the middle of the night, knee/hip pain and no sperm come out during ejaculation it was the last symptom that took me to the Gp. Apparently the MRI is suggestive of prostate cancer T3b. The issue for me is the biopsy they require I refused because 3 years ago I had submandibular cancer and I had my submandibular gland removed. Which left me nerve damage but I had a small lump in my neck for years and it was a biopsy that was taken with a large needle which was shaken in the tumour to get as many cells as possible for a diagnosis. After that biopsy the tumour grew at a much fast rate into a golf ball in a matter of months my fear is that this biopsy to my prostate gland might cause the same hence I’ve refused the biopsy and opted for WATCHFUL MONITORING of my psa. I wonder what options are out there for me and at what figure psa level should I then opt for hormone therapy. I’m a dad of 4 my youngest is 5 and I’m a single income family. If there any advice out there for me I’ll appreciate it
