Dad's prostate cancer progressing, should I go on holiday?

Hi,

My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in December. He has Mets on liver and all the way up his spine. Currently in hospital. Has had targeted radiotherapy to help with the pain on his spine. Latest PSA result was really good but it is still spreading. The deterioration has been so quick. Before he was admitted to hospital 3 weeks ago he was walking but now it's likely he will need a wheel chair (he hasn't even sat in a chair in the last 3 weeks)

I am meant to be going on holiday in 2 weeks time but don't know whether i should go.

  • Welcome to the forum Em although I'm very sorry to hear that your dad's cancer is still spreading despite the good outcome from this latest PSA results.

    This must be so difficult for you all right now. If you're able to get your dad's permission, maybe you could speak privately with his medical team to try and get a rough idea about his prognosis. 

    Hopefully some of our members will offer their thoughts and advice to you soon as well but in the meantime, we're thinking of you Em and sending all our support your way.
