Brother with Esophageal Cancer

Hello. My name is Julie and I have a close brother who is dying of cancer.  What is hard is his anger and resentment.  I want to visit him often as he lives alone but he has become so unpleasant to be around. I want to help as I always have but he starts telling me I am controlling and to stop interfering so I have but it is hard as you want to help and he always accepted alot of help from me before.  I have been angry too and probably said too much to him out of hurt. We used to spend an hour in the evenings on Alexa Show as both myself and my husband work full time, but he doesnt do that anymore and doesnt respond to messages some days which worries me.  Reading experiences on here has helped and I dont want this to be all about me.  Just would like to know how I can help or even make him a little happy if possible.  Thank you for this chance to put it out there.  Reading through the forums I can see so many people suffering also.

  • Hello Annette. Thank you for your reply.  So sorry for your recent diagnoses.  You are obviously a bright fighter.  So happy to hear.  One of the first things to go understandably is our sense of humour which is so important and our positivity.  I have tried asking him to reach out but he just said he is done with all that and is just waiting to die.  Its really tough to watch. Please take care XXX
