Scared and nervous

My mum is coming home from hospital today on palliative care. She was diagnosed at Christmas (20222) that she has lung cancer, kidney and womb and brain cancer, and unfortunately there is nothing they can do.  Is it normal to feel nervous and scared. She will have carers coming in, but im

nervous I won't  do a good job.

  • Hiya,

My wife was her mum's live-in carer for the last few weeks of her life (while I was going through colon cancer op and recovery at the same time). The carers who visited her mum every day were brilliant. Don't worry. Call MacMillan or speak to the guys at Cancer Research, they'll put your mind at rest.

Just be there for your mum. That's all she needs and all that you can do.

    Best wishes

    David

  • Oh bless you....

thank you so much for your kind words.
mum sure once my mum is home and we get ourselves into a routine I'll be fine. Just uncontrollable tears this morning.
