Hi my friend is on going chemotherapy can she have morning sickness everyday or it come and go?
Hello Thedelticflyer,
It's nice of you to ask for your friend. We have detailed information on our website on sickness and cancer drugs which you are welcome to have a look at. It mentions that obviously everyone reacts differently to chemotherapy and not all chemotherapy drugs make you sick. It also explains that "if they do, it generally starts from a few minutes to several hours after having the drug. With some drugs, the sickness lasts for a few hours, or until the next day. Sometimes it can last for several days."
If you find that your friend is stuggling with sickness, it is important that she informs her doctor, nurse or pharmacist as there are several different anti sickness medicines they can prescribe.
Feel free to get in touch with our cancer nurses or pass their number on to your friend if you want to have a chat about chemotherapy, nausea or anything else. You can call them on this free number 0808 800 4040 Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
I hope that your friend's chemotherapy treatment goes well and that she suffers minimal side effects.
Best wishes,
Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
