Husband struggling with discomfort in stomach from chemo

My husband has pancreatic cancer and his original chemotherapy did not work. He's started again but the drugs he's taking at home leave him with a lot of discomfort in his stomach and he says he feels windy. What can I do to help him, can he take anything for this. I would be very grateful for some idea that we could try.

 Thank you

  • Hello Knittynan and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

I'm sorry to hear that your husband's original chemo didn't work but hopefully the chemo he has now been put on will be more successful.

If the discomfort your husband is experiencing is becoming quite painful or unmanageable do be sure to let his specialist cancer team or GP know as they should be able to provide something that can help with this.

I hope some of our pancreatic cancer members who have contended with these symptoms will share their experiences and advice with you soon but if you'd like to have a quick chat with one of our cancer nurses about this, they'll be available next week on 0808 800 4040 between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very knowledgeable and will do all that they can to help.

We're thinking of you Knittynan and wishing your husband all the best with his treatment.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
