Mum

A little rant .

Six years ago,mum had tumour in breast.

Had chemo, radio therapy and all clear.

She went to doctors again when she had spots appearing under her breast.

Doctor told her it was warts, fast forward 6 months in agony, she was referred back to hospital where it was skin cancer.

Then she had a consultant who gave her wrong chemo for a year and no adequate pain relief.

She was put on garden leave and left the hospital on the South coast.

Finally my mum had the right chemo for 8 months.

Then at scan last Friday she was told chemo wasn't working anymore.

Fast forward to yesterday morning, mum collapsed and rushed to hospital, where they now find where the cancer is,there is fluid on the lung, and also cancer on the hip.

She is having fluid drained and tap fitted tomorrow in operation.

She has now been told she would now be too weak for further chemo.

Feel totally let down by the NHS and the system.

You don't play with people's life's.

Yes I'm angry I'm going to lose my mum,but more angry with how she was let down by medical experts

  • I'm so sorry to read what has happened with your mum Lee.

I know there is nothing I can say or do that can make this any better but I hope it helps to know that our community are here for you and hopefully some of our members, some of which have sadly found themselves in similar situations, will be along soon to offer you their support and advice.

If you would like to find out how to make a complaint about the treatment and care your mum has received do be sure to take a look at this section of our website. The NHS also have some information on how to this just here.

We're thinking of you Lee and sending all our strength to you and your mum at this very difficult time.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
