Looking for help - My Dad

Hi All, i dont really know why im writing this but i guess im just looking for positivity or hope from someone.

My Dad was diagnosed with Esophogeal cancer stage 4 in August 2020. I was devastated as his dr initally gave him 6 months to live but he was an absolute champ and kicked chemo's ***. So much so that his tumor has shrunk enough to have an operation. They removed everything and we thought he was going to be ok. The cancer is now back and spread to his lungs and lymph nodes.

Im wondering if anyone else has had a parent go through this and did treatment th 2nd time help? Im desperately looking for some hope. I know everyone is different but would love to hear some success stories. Im hanging in by a thread, my dad is truely my world.

Thank you

  • Hi, I can't completely relate or give you the answers you're looking for as my dad has terminal (thyroid) cancer and is not responding to chemo, but I can relate in that I know how awful it is to see your dad go through this  disease. My dad also has the cancer spread to his lymph nodes and lungs.
There are some clinical trials for head and neck cancers using immunotherapy, it might be a good idea to get some more info on these.
