Hello, it's one of those situations where there's no planned way of dealing with it, your mind and soul are adjusting to the changing situation around you. I think the best thing to do is just try be as helpful as possible, make sure the sick person has all they need and is comfortable, obviously go that extra mile to ensure you are there and taking care of everything. Our dad was diagnosed with stomach cancer back in March and it's been a rollercoster of A&E visits, hospital admissions and anxious waits for results.

What has been helpful for us is to find the joy in the everyday - we've took our dad to the park and ate ice cream in the sunshine or if he is feeling up to it, planned a day trip to the beach or just putting on a fun movie and watching together.  It all helps to break up the day and enables you to de-stress too and fill up your tank. 

It's not an easy time at all but find the joy, get more support - I've had some counselling which has been good to help process everything so that might be worth considering.

I am so sorry to hear you are struggling, it's such a horrible disease and your daughter is so young. I am looking after my mum at the moment who has terminal stomach cancer she has gone down hill really quickly which has been the hardest part. My advice to you would be make sure you set out time for yourself so you can renergise it doesn't have to be anything big even just half an hour as i have learnt the better i feel the better i look after mum. Keep reaching out to people you are not alone. Sending toughts and prayer to you and your family x
