Prostate cancer and depression

My dad was diagnosed 6 years ago with prostate grade 4 cancer and to be honest although it's spread to his bones and he had been in alot of pain on and off he's been doing really well. He has a hormone injection every three months and on numerous tablets. However the last couple of months he has been getting very low and depressed and bursting into tears at anything feeling useless and worried that my mum will leave him which could not be further from the truth we have tried reassuring him and telling him how much he means to us all but he just can't seem to shake off this cloud of depression. Has anyone else had a relative or friend be so low?

  • Hey I am in the exact position as you, my dad diagnosed in 2020 that spread into his bones too. He also having horome injection every 3 months and tablets. My dad last 2-3 months its abit  difficult to handle. He start to worry and stressing  every small little things. Also he became very angsty towards people. He could get very toxic and sensitive to one small comment too.  Mom and I keep reassuring him too but sometimes it is quite difficult to manage emotionally.
