Has anyone had cancer in the mediastinum? Dad just diagnosed

Hi, I am looking for some advice. My dad has recently been diagnosed with cancer in the Mediastinum (the area  inbetween that separates your lungs) as anyone had a relative or been through lung cancer before? I haven't heard of cancer in the Mediastinum before.
