Hi all. Sadly it looks as though my dad is going to be diagnosed with bowel cancer either today or tomorrow. The wait over the past week has been the worst thing I have ever experienced. He has had severe weightloss, blood in his stool, diahhrea, high levels of CRP in his blood and his lower back is hurting - all symptoms. He is 100% convinced it is bowel cancer. His dad passed with an aggresive bowel cancer at 62 (my dad is 61), his sister passed with bowel cancer at 48, his uncle (dad's brother) passed with bowel cancer in his mid 70's. Obviosuly my focus right now is on my dad and trying to be as brave as I can be for my mum but I'm so worried about the future. There seems to be a glaring link between bowel cancer passing down through the family (I'm not sure what type it is) and it is very quick and aggresive. Has anyone ever looked into genetic counselling or something similar?
Any replies are appreciated. I have read a number of posts on here and cancer really is a horrible disease.
Thanks
