Hi
I'm looking for some advice, a family member had a ct scan in January where they found inflammation of the bronchus and raised lymph nodes around it. Since then they've seen a respiratory doctor who said could be cancer (probably is) but only way to diagnose is by EBUS. At this time they weren't fit but subsequently they agreed she was and could get it. Last week she went for it but was unable to have it due to high HR and low BP, they've now rearranged for a couple of weeks time but our issue is we don't think she'll be fit enough to get it and we're not really sure what happens now. I'm assuming without any scope they won't give any treatment and I don't think she'd be fit for chemo etc anyway
She has no oncology contact as technically it isn't diagnosed yet, she's taken a massive dip this weekend and can't hold her own weight, she has no care in place because we're in a waiting list as no formal diagnosis to speed things up. My main worry is she's reaching end of life and nobody actually knows whats happening. I'm going to try and chase up tomorrow once GP is open, she's refusing hospital but obviously if she worsens that will be the only option.
Has anyone been in a similar situation before where they couldn't biopsy to diagnose?
I appreciate any help anyone can give x
