Is it easy to move cancer treatment from Kent to Yorkshire?

My Mum has just been diagnosed with Cancer and is going to be having Chemotherapy, she currently lives in Kent and myself, wife and family live in Yorkshire. Mum is on her own in Kent.
Does anyone know how easy and straightforward it is to look at moving her in with us and transferring her treatment to a hospital close to us so we are all about to support her during treatment??

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Byran although I'm sorry to hear your mum has been diagnosed with cancer.

With your mum's permission, it may be best to discuss this with her GP or cancer team in Kent but hopefully some of our members who have moved their treatment from one part of the UK to another will share their experiences and advice with you soon.

You may also be able to get some information from our cancer nurses so if you'd like to discuss this with them you can contact them on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they'll do all they can help.

I hope you're able to get the answers you're seeking soon and wish your mum all the best with her treatment.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
