Hi there,
My dad is starting the above treatment soon for metastatic tongue cancer. I was wondering if anyone has had this treatment and can give any tips. He is extremely nervous about treatment and having a picc line.
Thank you

Hey there a pic line is put in in the time it takes You to have a blood test, probably less, and you feel NOTHING your veins have no pain stimulators so it's painless procedure, and over in seconds,
I’ve had cisplastin 5fu for anal cancer, I'm pretty sure that's the one in a bottle you carry with you whilst it drips in, there were NO side effects for me, and no issues with the bottle, I also had flurocil as an 8hour infusion and then intensive radio everyday for 2MONTHS, tel your dad to message or ask me anything anytime if I can answer it I will but 100% he will be surprised at the picc line, I expected a theatre at least, it's done in the Chemoradiotherapy ward and literally takes 2 minutes, you have my
word it's painless
Thank you Ellie, that's really helpful. He suffers with anxiety and is worried about the picc line but this is reassuring to hear.
Wishing you all the best
