Recovery after Gamma Knife Surgery

Hi. My father had Gamma Knife Surgery for a 3cm brain tumor late October.

Whilst  recovery is going well. He does siffer from what he describes as a Woozy feeling in he's head. It's not constant but comes over in waves thought most days.

He doesn't describe this as vertigo.

Anyone else experienced this and any suggestions to help manage and control this side affect?

thanks in advance

  • Hi Heather and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

I'm glad to hear your father's recovery has been going well although I'm sorry about the woozy feeling he's been experiencing since he had his treatment.

I hope some of our members who have contended with this will offer their tips and advice to you soon but if you'd like to speak with one of our cancer nurses about this, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

If you or father haven't done so already, it may be worth letting his GP or cancer team know as they'll ultimately be in the best position to advise and make this more manageable.

    Best wishes to you both,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
