My husband had a left lower lung lobectomy in 2015. He was told it was a carcinoid cancer and they had removed it all, however, that there was a chance it could come back but that it could come back anywhere in the body. Unfortunately, having suffered back pain for months and diagnosed with muscle strain, my husband was eventually diagnosed with spinal compression (at A & E) in March 2021. He was given emergency radiation treatment as he was at risk of paralysis. He was told it was past the cure stage and was told that he could have a few years. I believe if he had been given regular hormone level checks and listened to his previous history this could have helped with an earlier diagnoses. If you are at all concerned remind your doctor of your medical history. It's very hard to watch my husband in pain even with the longtec and shortec medication he is on.
