Why is my doctor being so difficult

My mum has a rare form of cancer it's called sarcoma and it started in her leg, it was never curable, but was kept controlled by chemotherapy, but then 3 month ago she was told the treatment wasn't working and there was nothing more they could do for her, so they discharged her from the hospital and was put under palative care. She is now bed bound, incontinent and in excruciating pain, iits very stressful seeing her like that and I've taken leave from work, however my work will only pay me if I get signed off by the doctor for stress, and my doctor is being very difficult about that, I don't understand. Can anyone help or give me any advice, im at wits end, I have to pay my bills, I don't know what to do.

  • Hi Dennyh

How awful that your doctor won't support you at this very difficult time!!! Is there another doctor at the practice who you could see and discuss this with? Or is it possible that the palliative care team could also approach your doctor and explain how stressed and worried you are feeling.
I'm really sorry that I can't give you any better advice but hope it helps a little to know that others understand your terrible situation and empathise.
