Biopsy Results

I went to the GP as my right nipple had been peeling/bleeding/weeping for few months and then spread to areola. GP did me an urgent referral for breast specialist. Had an ultrasound which picked up thickening of skin on nipple and lump. Couple of weeks later I had biopsy's. Yesterday I had a letter saying I have an appointment with breast consultant on 10th Dec. Is it normal to have a face to face appointment even if everything is clear? Have tried to call consultants secretary for clarity but no answer and I'm stressing that I have another 9 days to wait and find out. Thank you.

  • Hello and thanks for your post

It is normal to have a face to face appointment with your breast care team to get your biopsy results whatever the outcome will be.

I can appreciate that you want to get as much information as you can before you go to the hospital, but no one can tell you anymore for now. Easier said than done, but try to take it one step at a time.

I hope everything turns out to be okay.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
