Pain following lumpectomy

So i had a mulitfocal lumpectomy mid July for early stage hormonal related BC, followed by nine rounds of radiotherapy. My breast has really only just started to look normal following weeks of dermatitis. I've had onoing odd pains which have not been a concern as i've read this is to be expected with nerves remeshing etc, but over the last two days i've had a significant throbbing pain throughout the day in the site of where the most tissue was removed. When i press on this area it's also painful. There's no redness, lumpiness or apparent infection.... Is this still likely to be a healing pain or something more worrying? I dont' want to waste NHS time if it's to be expected. Many thanks,

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

Unfortunately, we can't really tell you anything very specific. I would ask your GP to assess you. Sometimes you can get breast infections, or scar tissue formation, or you may have strained a muscle near the area without realising. They should be able to advise you further.

    Wishing you the best,

    Vanda
