Day unit for colonoscopy

Hi there , I'm due a colonoscopy on Tuesday but I have to go into the day unit tomorrow to take the laxatives as I'm going to have a tube down my throat so that can give me the preparation that way , has anyone ever gone through this before? And do you know how long I'll be there tomorrow

    Yes. The laxative is the worst part!  I have an abnormally long and twisty bowel, so they couldn't pass the camera with me on my side. Had to be on my back with someone pushing on my tummy throughout. It was not that unpleasant. Had some sedation, not a huge amount, could have had more but honestly the preparation was the hardest part . Sending you best wishes.

    Unfortunately the nurses aren't here at the weekend but I hope the response from Dwarfie helped. I imagine you are at the unit already or have had the procedure, and have been able to  ask questions when you were at the clinic.
