Anal cancer spread to vulva

I was treated last year with chemo with good results and the remaining tumour was blasted with radiotherapy ending in January this year.

 

unfortunately the squamous cells spread to my vulva.

 

I am currently undergoing immunotherapy now to address the cancer in the lymph nodes and the new tumour! This has spread to the whole vulva now and is extremely painful.  It's the cause of my discomfort and pain and has lowered my quality of life to virtually none. Has anyone else been here and suffered like this?

does anyone know of any treatment that can help with the pain until the immunotherapy has had time to attack the tumour and shrink it! I'm desperate for help.

    Hello and thank you for posting

    It sounds like you've had and are still having a very difficult time and it's understandable that you may want to speak to someone who's been there with something similar. You may want to post in another part of the forum to get to a wider section of people but its possible that no one will have been in a similar situation to yourself. There is also the Anal Foundation www.analcancerfoundation.org/ which as it centres on one cancer, may also be of some help.

    I do hope you have discussed this with your hospital team as it's important that they are aware of how bad the pain is. There are many different types of painkillers out there and sometimes it's a case of trial and error before you hit on the combination that works best for you. If the pain is not controlled, it may also be helpful to ask to be referred to the pain clinic or symptom control people who will try their best to get on top of this for you.

    Hi there, 

    Sorry to bother you but just wondered what your symptoms in the vulva are? I am due for my gynaecology appointment later today and I so scared that my symptoms I have been experiencing over the last year and a half are something sinister. Any information would be very much appreciated.

    Hello there

    I am sorry to hear you have been experiencing some worrying symptoms for a while now.

    It can be difficult to compare symptoms with others as there can always be a number of different causes and every persons story and outcome will vary.

    It is good you are seeing a gynaecologist and hopefully you will get some answers very soon.
