Hi all, concerned, 29 year old woman looking for advice really.
I've had a swollen lymph node on my left groin for past three weeks. Booked in to see my doctor. They initially said they couldn't feel the node I was concerned about. She then went on to ask, if i wanted a surgical referral to have it cut out? I then asked if she didn't think it was a lymph node then? Doctor continued to palate groin for about 5minuts until she convinced herself it was infant a lymph node she felt. She explained they are just doing they their job and she didn't think it felt sinister.
I asked, what next. She said it won't go down for a few weeks as I've had it 3 already, but for a relatively fot person she isn't concerned. She didn't ask any history and although I have no 'classic' symptoms to go alongside, other than fatigue, she didn't know this as she hadn't taken a history. No blood tests or requests made. Advised to go back if painful, increase in size or accompanying symptoms.
My family are worried and pushing this. Does this sound familiar to anyone else? i guess I wanted reassurance but her assessment, but felt this wasn't up to par. Am I right to be worried? Any advice what you think would be truly appreciated.
