I also had a couple of core biopsies about 6 weeks ago. This came back as B3. I then had a vacuum biopsy 2 weeks, which I'm still waiting for the results. Going to ring tomorrow as the waiting is really stressful. Are you able to tell me if you've got to have any further treatment with yours coming back as B3? Thank you  

Yeah the waiting is stressful isn't it. No further treatment other than yearly mammograms. 
i know there are so many ladies worse off than me but this is impactive. I don't want to bore my friends. They were pleased today when I told them it was still a B3. Having it come back twice as a B3 is disheartening (I was hoping for a lower category) and it's not an "all clear".

Thanks for replying. Yes I totally get what you're saying. I'm going to feel the same if it comes back as a B3. Sorry to hear you've been through this previously. Did it come back in the same boob? I can't feel any lumps, mine was found when I had a rountine now I'm 50 mammogram. So came as a shock to be called back for further checks. It's the waiting that's the hardest. Take care x

Aww thank you. Yes same boob but higher up. Did you get the number of one of the breast care nurses? Maybe give her a little ring tomorrow. That's what I did last week after the MDT meeting. Yes I'm always optimistic and it is shocking when you get told there's something of concern. If you remember and feel up to it will you let me know how you get on xx

I am sorry that you have had to go through breast scans and biopsies and I can appreciate your concern about what could happen in the future.

Looking at the clinical guidelines for how to diagnosis and follow up someone with a B3 breast lump it is reassuring to know that by having  a core biopsy and vacuum assisted excision to diagnosis it and being followed every year with mammograms your breast team are following them.  This is all being done to ensure that if cancer does develop it is got early, when the chance of a cure is much higher.  Also form what I have seen in the guidance most B3's do not develop into cancer.

This must be an unsettling time for you so if you can do discuss this further with your breast team who may be able to give you more information about your risk of developing breast cancer and why having this done is recommended so do discuss it with them.
