  • Hello and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear that you are feeling worried about your health. It is good to hear that you are seeing your GP so that you can explain your concerns.

GP's have guidelines about when to do certain tests. Blood tests can tell a lot about a persons health and they can help identify when further tests are needed.

I know that you say that you haven't had an infection recently but your lymph glands act as a filter and they can go up even if you don't think that an infection is present.

You can read what the NHS has to say about swollen lymph glands here

I can understand how frustrating it can be when you don't know what is causing certain symptoms. GP's are trained to look out for worrying symptoms so do  listen to see what they say. There can be many other reasons for symptoms to happen other then cancer so try not to think the worst.

The NHS have written some helpful information about what to ask your doctors at your appointment that you can see here

If anxiety about your health affects your day to day life then you may also find it helpful to look at the information called 'Every Mind Matters' here

I do hope that you are able to put across your different concerns to your GP. It can be helpful to make a list so you can go through all your worries.

I do hope that you feel better soon.

    All the Best,

    Catherine
