Lymph node swelling in armpit

Hi everyone. About 10 months ago I found a lump in my right breast, I went to the breast clinic and had a biopsy. They said it was fat necrosis.

Its been 10 months now and I started with pain in left breast. Went back to the doctors about 2 weeks ago as my nipple area was inflamed.

Forward to a week and its been 10 days. I found a lump under my armpit, it was big. It was really inflamed all around it, was itchy and sore. I ended up in a&e 3 times begging for help but the doctor said it was just  hydradenitis suppurativia and refused to test me. So yesterday I had the breast clinic appointment and they confirmed it was a swollen lymph node and loads of little ones she could see in my armpit she went to speak to the doctor (who basically rushed me out the door) to see if he wanted a biopsy. He said no and gave me these leaflets and sent me on my way but whilst i was there (he was really old) he said to the nurse "what do I do now"

I told them about my symptoms and was told they wouldn't cause them. I was like ok.

I've completely lost my appetite and those who know me know thats not me as I have BED. I feel sick constantly, am really itchy with my armpits, feel generally unwell. I am also breathless and dizzy. So its been this long and I've just tonight found another lump in my neck. I've emailed my doctor and they should get in touch soon but I just feel like nobody cares if that makes sense. Like I feel so rubbish. Does anyone know what I should ask my doctor for like specific tests/scans etc?

The breast specialist said he will see me in 2 months time and if lump still there they'll do a biopsy but I really can't wait that long and want a second opinion.

  • Hello and thank you for getting in touch.

I'm sorry you are having all these symptoms and feel like nobody cares, but unfortunately I'm not sure we will be able to help much more.

Anyone who is struggling with symptoms does need to report them to their GP, they will assess you and make a decision on what needs to happen next. They decide on the need for tests or scans dependent on certain triggers which they notice when they assess somebody.

It does sound like you have been seen by the breast team and they have made their evaluation, but it maybe as they have said, that these symptoms don't relate to anything in your breast.

I would suggest that when you hear back from the GP, who you have emailed, you explain what symptoms you are now experiencing.

Take care, and I hope you know more about how you are feeling soon.

    Sarah.
