After Lumpectomy

Hi , 

was diagnosed with dcis back in July, had two lumpectomies one in Aug and another in September due to margins and also finding invasive lurking in there! They cut around the areole this is now turning yellow, I have also noticed a slightly raised area under my areole on my breast slightly different colour and looks slightly dimply, like big pores on surface of skin has anyone else had this? Thinking I should ring breast care nurse but always think I am being over sensitive!! I am still awaiting radiotherapy and taking anastrozol.

    I am sorry to hear about your recent surgeries and the changes you are noticing to your breasts. I'm afraid no one on the forum can say what this is for sure, or if it is normal.

    However it is still early days and it isn't unusual to experience some dimpling or discolouration after a lumpectomy as the wounds heal and settle down. It is always best to mention this type of thing to the breast care team, just to be sure, and please don't think you are being over sensitive because you really aren't and it is important to get anything that is bothering you looked at.

    Thankyou so much, been to see consultant this afternoon and I have an infection so have been prescribed some antibiotics
