I'm so very sorry to hear about your mum - it must be so difficult going over the past months, wondering if things could have been different and also grieving for your mum.

It sounds like you all did your very best to get her seen and that you persisted in getting her looked at. Gallbladder cancer is rare and it can be quite advanced already before  getting a diagnosis, as it mimics infection of the gallbladder very closely.  I do realise though  that this is no comfort to you.

Some people find it helpful to go over things with the hospital or consultant ,so you can get to discuss your mum's case with the people involved and put across how let down you feel. It won't change matters regarding your family, but it can help to voice how traumatic it was, and still is for you all and to get any questions you may still have, answered.

Pals I went through when I we wanted to know why my mums gall bladder coukd not be removed , I'll be honest not very helpful at all , I have wrote a five page letter to the chief ex on a investigation which has started and contacted our solicter I feel she had so many tests done from April on , they was aware my mums haomehlobiogn was low around July , but gave her iron tablets , surely all the blood tests would show markers , I'll never ever live this down , in this day and age they didn't out rule cancer earlier . They messed with her life   , and the six months before mum died is what you woukd usually get once gall bladder detected , how did they miss it ? With the scans the mri in July , I'll never get over Losing mum like this , she was my best friend , my soul mate we were very close , I'll never understand how they never saw it . Our hearts are broken , I have a letter dated 28 th august saying they will now take the gall bladder out , why the heck didnt they do it around d may , . My poor mum , never stood a chance

It's very difficult for us to comment on the events leading up to you mum's death as we were not involved in her care. As my colleague Wanda said, when you have unanswered questions like this, we would usually advise you to speak to the team involved in her care. They are better placed to advise you on this as they will have access to all her medical details and will be in a better position to answer your questions.

You mention you have written to the Chief Executive about your mum's care, they will look into this for you.
