I’m afraid no one here on the forum can tell you what the matter is. But breast cancer in your age group is rare and the majority of breast cancers are much more common in postmenopausal women. And inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) is very rare indeed.

Most breast symptoms are due to hormonal changes .As your breast clinic appointment is coming up soon it’s probably best to wait until then to be seen. You will be assessed by a breast specialist team, you will probably have an ultrasound scan and or a mammogram and if necessary a biopsy. The majority of women who are referred to the breast clinic with symptoms do not have cancer.

The breast clinic are very good and will check all aspects of your breast problems. Do ask about anything that is worrying you. Maybe write down a list before you go so you don't forget about anything. You will probably have a mammogram, ultrasound +or - biopsies if needed. The nurses are happy to explain the procedures to you. I hope your appointment comes quickly.

I'm new here but am currently waiting for my appt next Tuesday.  I had a lump which I'd been watching for a couple of months (waiting for period, then I got Covid so couldn't get it looked at).  Last week I developed pain in my armpit and breast (not where the lump is most of the time).  It's there nearly all the time as an ache / discomfort.  Went to see nurse at GP.  Examined me. Said my left armpit was swollen (although I can't see it) and could feel the lump. I've got an urgent referral as well.  I keep looking at texture but can't quite judge if the skin had changed to orange peel.  I've also developed a small red mark this evening so I am worrying about the same thing.

I'm really just posting to say you're not in your own and I'm in the same boat.  Hope your appointment goes ok.

It is so hard waiting isn't it? Seems like that is the worst part as your mind goes all over the place!

So I had my appointment today. I had a mammogram and ultrasound. They found a large hard area they are concerned about so took biopsies from there and my lymph nodes. The clinician said the area was highly suspicious unfortunately. Will know 100% when the biopsy results are back.

Sorry to hear that Harker. Good to hear that you've had the biopsies - I will be sending positive thoughts.  My appointment is Tuesday so will keep you posted.
